Between September 22 and 30, Quant (QNT) rose 289%.
Since then, it has given back 31%.
The warning was on the screen the whole time. RSI sat above 70 for seven straight days and peaked at 96. On October 9, momentum flipped. Anyone holding without a plan watched the gain shrink, day after day.
Every trader has a plan for buying. Almost nobody has one for selling.
So we built one. It has only four answers:
Exit: the trend you bought has turned.
Trim: the move is stretched, so bank part of it.
Cut: price closed below the stop you set in advance.
Hold: none of your levels have broken, so do nothing on purpose.
We turned each one into an AI prompt and ran it on live altFINS data. A few things we found:
Dogecoin’s trend broke on October 7, while its long-term chart still looked fine. Acting on that signal meant selling about 8% above today’s price.
AVAX is down 14% this month. It feels like a sell, but only 1 of 4 warning signs is active. The one price to watch is $9.55.
A stop loss on SOL looks completely different from a $110 entry than from a $100 entry. Your exit is decided the moment you buy.
The full guide has all four prompts, ready to copy, plus one all-in-one “sell check” you can run on any coin you hold.
P.S. The best prompt in the guide ends with one sentence: “Do not tell me what to do.” Find out why it changes everything.
New to the altFINS MCP? Here’s how to try these prompts yourself
The altFINS MCP server connects your AI assistant directly to live altFINS data: trend scores, RSI, MACD, ATR, support and resistance, analyst trade setups and signals across 2,000+ assets. Instead of guessing from old training data, your AI reads real numbers, and every prompt in this guide becomes a one-line question.
It’s read-only, so it can’t place trades or touch your funds. And it’s free to start: 1,000 credits every month.
Connect it in about 2 minutes:
Get your free API key. Log in to altFINS and create your key here.
Add altFINS to your AI. Point your client to
https://mcp.altfins.com/mcpand add your key. It works with Claude, VS Code (GitHub Copilot), Microsoft Copilot Studio, Perplexity Pro and n8n. Step-by-step: Claude Desktop guide.Paste your first prompt. Try: “Using altFINS, what is the short, medium and long-term trend for BTC?” If you see trend scores, you’re connected.
Need more than 1,000 credits?
If you run the sell check on your whole watchlist every day, or want to build your own trading bot, alert system, AI agent or dashboard, upgrade to a paid API plan for more credits. You get the same data through the API and MCP, with 150+ indicators and 130+ signal types already calculated, so you don’t waste time or credits computing them. You don’t need to be a programmer: many users build their first tools just by describing them to Claude.
