Most traders ask AI wrong questions.
A vague prompt like "find me good coins to buy" returns 500 illiquid tokens in random order. A specific prompt, with market cap range, time interval, liquidity floor, and exact thresholds, returns 10 coins you can actually act on.

We've just published The Complete Guide to altFINS MCP Prompts with Claude: 70+ prompts for every trader type.

Below, three of the best prompts, each paired with today's real results pulled from altFINS.

Prompt 1:

"Use altFINS on DAILY interval. Filter: MARKET_CAP between $1B and $500B, DOLLAR_VOLUME > $50M, LONG_TERM_TREND = UP, MEDIUM_TERM_TREND = UP, RSI14 between 40 and 65. Sort by PRICE_CHANGE_1M descending. Return top 10 with columns: symbol, last price, market cap, RSI14, 1M change, 1W change, dollar volume. For each, add one sentence explaining why it's a low-risk candidate."

Why this works: confirmed long-term uptrend + medium-term uptrend + not overbought + strong liquidity = the highest-probability entry profile. You're buying strength in strength.

Prompt results:

Takeaway: all three coins show alignment across every timeframe, the rarest and strongest condition in today's mixed market. HYPE has the strongest fundamentals (one of the highest-revenue blockchains); TRX is the cleanest established uptrend; SKY is the freshest breakout.

Prompt 2:

"Run two altFINS screener calls. Call 1 (DAILY): MARKET_CAP $500M–$50B, DOLLAR_VOLUME > $30M, LONG_TERM_TREND = UP or Medium UP, price above SMA50. Call 2 (HOURS4, same universe): RSI14 between 30 and 50, STOCH_RSI < 30. Return only coins in BOTH calls. Columns: symbol, market cap, daily trend, 4H RSI14, 4H STOCH_RSI, distance from SMA50, 24h volume. Sort 4H RSI14 ascending."

Why this works: multi-timeframe alignment is the single most reliable swing pattern. The daily trend gives you direction; the 4H pullback gives you the entry timing. Without both, you're either chasing or bottom-fishing.

Prompt results:

Takeaway: ZEC is the cleanest setup, broke out above 200 SMA, now pulling back to its $300–$330 breakout-turned-support zone. Textbook swing entry with a 3:1 reward-to-risk ratio. FET and AVAX are earlier-stage base-building plays, slightly higher risk, but strong asymmetric upside if the levels hold.

Prompt 3:

"altFINS DAILY. Filter: MARKET_CAP > $300M, DOLLAR_VOLUME > $25M, price broke above a recent resistance level in last 5 days, VOLUME_RELATIVE > 1.5, RSI14 between 55 and 72 (strong but not extreme), MACD > MACD_SIGNAL. Sort VOLUME_RELATIVE descending. Top 15 with columns: symbol, price, resistance just broken, next target, RSI14, VOLUME_RELATIVE, 1W change. Also pull curated altFINS technical analysis for any that triggered — I want analyst-vetted breakouts only."

Why this works: multi-timeframe alignment is the single most reliable swing pattern. The daily trend gives you direction; the 4H pullback gives you the entry timing. Without both, you're either chasing or bottom-fishing.

Prompt results:

Takeaway: RENDER has the best risk/reward on this list, the AI/GPU narrative remains strong and the breakout was confirmed above its 200 SMA with solid volume. KAS is the cleanest pattern (Falling Wedge breakout) but tighter upside. LINK works for conservative momentum players. XMR is the outlier, the privacy-coin narrative is trading independently of the broader alt market.
